Use:

Permanent magnetic filter grates are tried and tested units in separation and filter technology for separating ferrous impurities from granular, liquid and gaseous media. Their simple design and reliable, maintenance-free operation have made them indispensable in many industries. As separating units for the separation of magnetic impurities from granular bulk materials, they are used in such areas as feed production for the separation of ferrous parts including bag closures, wires, screws, assembly materials, etc., in the plastics industry to remove fine and coarse iron from high-quality granulates, upstream of mills to remove foreign iron from grain (rye, wheat, maize, etc.) and to protect all crushing and grinding plants for other goods too, and for separation from viscous masses and slurries, e.g., in the food, chemical and ceramics industries. Permanent magnetic filter grates can be used in material discharge downstream of belts, vibrating chutes, elevators, etc., or in open and closed chutes, gutters, shafts, pipes, etc., in single, rear or stacked double or multiple arrangements depending on the desired degree of separation.

Advantages:

Permanent magnetic filter grates allow direct installation in ferrous housings and cassettes, because no magnetic fields influence the outer frames of the grates. This facilitates optimum utilisation of the magnetic forces in the separating cross-section and eliminates the need for the particularly expensive and complex anti-magnetic installation devices that are necessary with unshielded filter grates.

Cleaning:

A prerequisite for installing permanent-magnetic filter grates is that the occurrence of ferrous foreign bodies is only occasional. The filter grates are cleaned periodically by hand, either by wiping or blowing with compressed air, or by spraying with liquid. It is advisable to use a replacement grate for retractable grates, whereby these can be replaced immediately when cleaning the grate in operation. In the case of a continuous accumulation of ferrous foreign bodies, automatic separating devices should be used, e.g., separating rollers, over-belt magnets or separating chutes.
